I just want subscriptions on my iPad and the main point is, whether you agree or disagree with Apple's opt-in policy, this is still a major sticking point with many publications. Of all the magazine/newspaper apps I use on my iPad only 2 have adopted the new subscription policy. NYT was one of those but I deleted it because those prices were insane. I just want subscription options from Wired, Popular Mechanics and Sports Illustrated. I don't care about Apple's policy, I don't care if the publisher gets my info or not... I just want subscriptions!!!!!! I have stopped and will never pay another $5 per issue for anything on the iPad. Subscriptions or nothing!

I was thinking about this game and if it would work on an 11" mba ultimate.
i tried searching forums for "macbook air rift" and nothing came up so i thought id post it and see if anyone had any success. Even if you have to play at lowest settings, that would be fine for me. Sorry if i missed a thread that discusses this already. Thanks for any helpful replies.

I am all against this nostalgia gaming. U have so many great games available on the ipad or iphone that utilise their potencial, why would u wanr to play games that have 12 pixels running around? I think it has more to do with people remembering the "good old times" when they havent had all that depression, fear and insecurity going on.
I played Atari up through super nintendo. I stopped at that point partly due to the games appearing to play themselves. If you ask young people to go back and try to play Zelda or link from beginning to end, you often hear "its too hard". The point of the old games was to be challenging; not to be a movie disguised as a game.
I'll admit that recently when I played an older game I was disappointed but then I realized I was doing something wrong. I was hitting the continue button. The older games are better if you challenge yourself to score as high as possible on one credit or compete with a second person on one credit.
You know the new games would be more interesting if played like that too. These first person shooter games are ridiculous because you keep getting back up after dying. The thing is that it doesn't seem as boring to play like that because the scenery of the game keeps changing. But try having two people play as far as possible with one life or three if that is standard and go as far as possible on that. I bet it is a better game if you play with the rul that you start over when you die in the game.

Simple solution: Financial Times should put out a browser version of the publication that is optimized for viewing on an iPad and simply require the same login that is does now for its web version.
I don't pay extra for the iPad version of nytimes.com on my iPad, so I use the web version instead (and it's not even optimized for iPad the way the mobile version is optimized for iPhone). I don't get the benefit of the snazzier iPad app, but I'm also not paying for it.
Apple created the iOS platform and allows third parties to develop apps for it as long as you play by Apple's rules. If you don't like Apple's rules, optimize your product to run as a web page for iPhone/iPad or just rely on the web version you have now.

That's what growl does? I've only ever seen/ heard about it in the Proteus message boards
All it does is to provide a service for applications to notify users of events.
Like using an applescript that Growl provides, whenever I get a new email i'll have a bubble pop up informing me which account received a new email, who is it from and the subject title.
As I said you'll have to try it to love it. And check out their list of applications that use growl. ;)

I guess we'll just have to find out in June. Maybe not at WWDC, but who says there won't be a hardware announcement at some point immediately following WWDC? Either way, I'm fine with my iP4....that is until iP5 is available :D

Yes I know about pricing, but when you see prices in US (When count with the carriers price) and see the wide differences like nearly 1000 usd its making upset.
