Good idea. But I am going to TSC.
This is what I'm doing. I'm flying to Nebraska service center friday night. Will put my shelter in front on PO box and will remain there until Monday morning. Once the USCIS guy comes up to pick up the mails, I'm just going to hand deliver my paper before he even opens his mail box.

I am watching this thread last 36 hours, this is not media to discuss political issues, we are here to educate/lobby so called law makers of this country for our immigration issues.
STILL BEING TAMILIAN, I HAVE RIGHTS TO SAY MY THOUGHTS
Tamils in SL is not Indian citizen but they migrated long back still have culture,family relation in India. Rajive got assassinated because he is trying to implement unpopular/unacceptable foreign policy in SL simply by trusting his popularity (he deserved for his mistake) One Sikh killed Indira but we accept another Sikh as our PM. It is Indian gov. lobbied efforts to ban LTTE by western country. they are well organized, disciplined and high tech group. some people raise another issue, they recruited young children to fight, we all are talking so called democartic India, still encouraging child labor every where in India. Srilanka Government boldy refusing all western country pressure, even United Nation (UN, this is pice of shit in the trash) unable to convience SL gov. because it is backed by Indian gov. or you may called Sonia gov.
Bottom line is Sonia is taking revenge on Tamils by supporting SL gov., after all she is from the country that killed Jesus.
We already denounced India, I am carrying Indian passport with shame.

I know in the past many times it was debated -- why people do not support? Let me put forth what I feel.
Effort put by IV is very commendable. But the beneficiary of IV work (mostly) do not give importance to Green Card. That is what I think based on talking to multiple people and that is what we see from the % participation of people for various fruitful effort put forth by IV. Most of them say they do not care if they get GC or not. In their heart of heart they may but not too much.
Other reason I can think of is -- There could be doubt in minds of many people of IV strength. The day IV gets some success, people will rally behind IV for a while. And that is the scenario outside world too. See the stock price. If the company is doing good, stock price goes up. The day one bad news comes, stocks falls down. Take the presidential election. You can very well make out that contribution by company or people is proportional to candidate wins. If you are loosing, contribution will dry out very fast. I am not saying that candidate will not have supporter but that would be less in number. Take N.T. Rama Rao case. The day Naidu ditched him and others followed him, no officials gave importance to NTR.
Believe me, in my office or outside, I have talked to every Indian. And not one comes back n discusses with me about IV.
I strongly feel IV is doing a commendable job with some dedicated contributors.

The only reason they have succeeded is because they believe in themselves and their cause - they are all over the world and are united, they have managed to make their lives easier by uniting for their causes.
Look at us - if green card is delayed - we say - I dont care about it, India is rising - but are we going there? No way - no one who says "India is rising" will go - in fat they will be the first to apply for any immigration benefit.
Why are we individually so highly skilled and intelligent and capable but collectively so naive? Why do we always want others to do it for us? is it because if there is any opposition the active ones will be affected and we can escape? is it cowardice that stops us from being united?
What is success? How can we achieve success? Why are we finding excuses for not doing our part? Why do we always want to praise others but not do something?

A couple of points. Firstly it's usually a good idea when quoting wikipedia to include the primary reference that the quote or opinion is based on. A contentious issue like immigration reform produces lots of opinion but not all of it is based on fact. Secondly, there are shocking racial elements in the history of immigration laws in the US. Perhaps it's not that shocking when one considers the racial history of the country. My point is that the immigration laws of the United States were racist until the 1952 INA act. They specifically placed quotas on people based on the color of their skin. Today's restrictions, while bizarre, unreasonable and unfair in many ways, cannot be defined as racist.
In 1917, this Sikh man, for immigration, went to the Supreme court to fight his battle.
And today, some of our members, when they call us, block their caller ID. God knows what they are afraid of. But certainly not the kind of person who would go as far as Thind went.

Calm down everyone.
The thread was posted in a seperate area we have created for such posts. As Marphad said, you cannot discuss immigration all day. IV is a platform for everyone in the community to be together. If you just talk about immigration, we may not get the number of people we need for action items. When we start action items to make calls, send faxes etc, we want people sending it in thousands and not hundreds. It hurt us last year when we had such action items and participation was thin. If we make the forums strictly to discuss immigration it will hurt us in time of need when we will desperately need massive participation. This is part of a plan in moving forward for IV and we are building a platform for immigrants to come and stay here and consider it as their home. This work is still under process and you will see its fruits when we have a big bill like CIR. There is a possibility of CIR after August and we need to be ready for it. We are hearing health care reform coming before CIR at this time. There is pressure from CHC and it will be tough to ignore.
So do not get emotional and start fighting. It is tme to be united and increase the membership of our community. We will need to burn the phone lines and jam the fax machines with our participation when the time comes.
I have deleted my post on this thread. As an administrator I represent IV and I will keep in mind not to air my personal views on politics as they can be misinterpreted as IV's views.

It is true.They were implemented stirctly. But to cheat that many of bodyshoppers are creating fake Paystubs. Getting just payroll expenses and tax from consultant and creating paystubs. How do you prevent that? When good faith effort fails more and more regulations are coming. If our bodyshoppers are honest there would have no regulations like that.

For my spouse, I've to take care of all the fees for I-485 / I-765 / I-131 / Biometric ( $325 + $180 + $170 + $ 70). For me, I've to take care only I-131 Fees ( $170). The Company Pays the fees only for my I-485 and I-765 and also take care of the Attorney Fees for both of us. They also reimburse the Medical Expenses, if the insurance does not cover the charges, only for Employee/ Primary applicant. For all dependents it is my responsibility.
I just want to point out that whether or not your company helps offset these costs is immaterial at this point. This is money that has gone down the drain. Depending on the Oct. Visa Bulletin, you, or your employer may have to incur the same expenses all over again. So in the end, you may end up spending more than twice the amount of money, and more in application fees.
My only beef is that if the USCIS was intentionally working hard to preempt the deluge in July, WHY DID IT NOT TALK TO THE DOS AND MAKE THIS INFO PUBLIC??? This is unethical and unacceptable conduct.

If unemployment increases every month then any immigration reform is distance possiblity.Illegal immigrants are is getting publicity every year by rally for past 4 years but nothing happened. Pro immigrants are trying to block E-verify and some other anti immigration reforms. Anti immigrants are trying to block pro immigrant reforms. So any immigration reforms will be stalled until some compromise reached by moderates
no comments from anyone on this ..I guess most of us are resigned to our fate ? no problems though since I have also given up ...GC will come when it has to ...it is better to have plan B and plan C ..(i.e. be ready to accept that there is a good chance that getting GC will become more complicated esp if there are layoff's everywhere ..I guess there is already a thread regarding issues faced by people who had to use AC21)

I guess most of us are angry and resigned to fate ..what if we come with a shock therapy campaign ..i.e. get thousands of legal immigrant signatures ...and say we are fed up with the broken system and we intend to give up and leave US soon .. if this gets lot of publicity then atleast someone (maybe one of the presidential candidate) will come up with a solid promise to do something ??
I have posted this in other threads to get more inputs ...I guess we need something dramatic especially when our cause is dying ...point is to get maximum publicity ..maybe flowers + the intent to leave USA

this makes no sense (with all due respect to Mr Gotcher). He basically claims that PD has been moved to allow CP cases to be processed faster to avoid visa number wastage.. However he also says that there is a huge backlog of AOS cases. Looking at how many CP cases are being called for interview in mumbai and delhi (low hundreds) I dont see how CP alone can help avoid a big wastage of visas. If USCIS is still 20k short, then its the massive pile of AOS cases they should be using, just like they did last year.
Several things to consider.
1. Is it really 20k left for this year.
2. Are there more EB2 RoW applicants filed I-485 for the last few months.
3. You have number from India CP, do you have number from China CP.

My opinion is you should allign your thinking with a party which has the least divisive idealogy. Mulayam/Mayawati/Laloo type parties were born for simple reason, 'Caste politics'. Congress has only one agnda 'Communal/Secular', they call themselves secular but they have played the divisive card like none other in India..Congress have ruled in India for longest period than any other party, In UP Congress was the default govt. until late 1980, but the condition of the minorities in those regions will tell you how much they were misused & misguided.
And now , since they took over in 2005 they've been talking about reservations, they alligns with Muslim League in south, they support terrorists like 'Taslamuddin', and ofcourse everybody is aware about their role in Amarnath Land Transfer issue. On the other hand there's a party who worked almost for everybody for 5 years. In those 5 years we saw how India started showing up in US media as emerging business leader, that started happening in 2001-2002...You need to give them their due credit. Now you see the western media, they are all lashing out at Indian govt. with 'Weak govt.' charges...It is upto you to decide what kind of politics you want from your politicians. People argue 'But BJP didn't build the temple when they were in power' and my answer is did you want them to do that ? isn't it good that they did not raise controversial issue and just worked on development. Babri Masjid, Gujarat riots etc. are raised again and again by parties who don't have any agenda, but only one agenda and that is to divide and get get votes....
Let me ask you this. I am a Brahmin and should I hand over future of my children to any other party than BJP? What should I read out of reservations for OBCs?
Are you also saying US does not have blood on their hand of innocent Iraqis? Are you saying no innocent was killed in Gaza or west bank?
