I was in same boat. And apparently there is nothing like I-94 extension according to my lawyer. So after your passport comes.. You go out of the country and come back for a new I-94. Or you apply for visa renewal. I had to apply for h1 extension anyway within 5 mos. So I applied for renewal. Hope this helps.

6 point id verification. I looked and it has EAD as one of the documents. I would print each page with your selection and take it with you
I assume you do not have a valid I-94.
Also call your state DMV and confirm what documents are sufficient.

I applied for my labor in July and my PD is July 2007. If I get approved before August 17 then will I be able to apply for I140/485 before August 17th.

There is a lot of discussion in various threads about the new. Essentially the questions boil down to the following. Hopefully some knowledgable people can post here.
1. What happens if your labor is still pending in BEC (2001 thru 2005 cases)?
2. What happens if you have an 140 pending filed before May 21, 2007?
3. What happens if you have an approved 140 and about to file 485?
4. What happens if you are yet to file 140?
5. With AC 21 gone will you be able to switch jobs using 485 portability?6. With AC 21 gone will you be able to join new employer based on H1 receipt?

You don't need to be working in the US while the AOS is pending. You just need to have the job when permanent residence is approved, or to have a job in the "same or similar occupational classification."

Do i need to collect something from my ex employer since i have quit my job
I did not provide a letter of employment when i filled in july 2007 as my attorney said he did not want to rush the letter as he was busy filling during July 2007 friasco and would submit the same when USCIS asks for it before USCIS makes a decision in the case
I have W2 of 2008 and i will get my 1099 for 2009 at the end of the year
I will provide a offer letter from my new employer when USCIS needs it

I am planning to pursue my studies part-time, while working fulltime on H1B or EAD. If you move to F1 visa, you will have to forego your immigration application. To apply for immigration later will require you to start all over again. It is unbelievable !! :mad:
So, depending upon your age and other factors, you should consider studying part-time or wait till you get your GC.

Yep, thats what I paid ;) And while its true that we are spending a lot of money on our GC process, saving a few dollars here or there always helps.

I am not really sure why this really makes a difference. My perm was approved in EB3 in about 7 months but if I have to wait 30 years to get a GC what difference does it make ?!?

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused now. Maybe its just me.
Couple of questions, if you don't mind.
1. Did you go on your vaction after getting your 3 year extension based on your approved I-140?
2. Did you apply for 3 year H1-b extension even though your passport was not renewed?
3. Did you renew your passport before you travelled on your vacation? I am asking this just to know which passport had your visa stamp?
4. Did UCSIS approve your H!-b extension for 3 years and does the I-94 on your I-797 indicate that the new H1-b is valid for 3 years?

I returned to the US last year after a vacation and while my current visa's expiration date is July 2007 the customs official would only stamp my I-94 & authorize entry until May 2007 when my passport expires. My lawyer has applied for our extension using copies of my passport which is expiring soon but she advised that USCIS would need a copy of the new passport with new expiry date before approving my extension. The lawyer says your passport has to have an expiry date after the date of expiration of your visa extension. I am planning to file Labor under EB2. Below is my education detail.
3 years Bachelor Degree i.e. B.Com.
2 years MBA(Information Technology)
10 years pure IT experience in Java, Oracle
5 Professional Certification from Sun Microsystem,Oracle and IBM
Based on these education background will I have problem with EB2 labor and I-140 approval?
Please suggest.

All the money you are sending to India, the Indian Gov't/Bank turns around and keeps right here in the good old USA. India now has over 300 billion of such green backs. Every country is doing the same. This is the reason that allows the US to remain financially robust. If this system does not maintain, and after the current shocks it is very much threatened in my view, then all will be gone, the almighty dollar we work for just might not be worth all the bother.
