Again, including her name on your I-485 application would not help her to "get into the queue". You need to file another I-485 for her and you can only do that if she is physically present in the US. (you need the I-94 card). You could have the court marriage in July and bring her here on an H4 or other visa, and then file for her I-485 as well.
I am in a similar boat as you, except my ritualistic wedding would be in Aug and I am banking on the hope that the dates would still remain current for August.

For that matter nothing is an achievement. if Some one gets a baby everyone greets him. Is that an achievement? If you buy a house you are happy. Is that an achievement? For some people coming to US was an achievement. Some people think getting a green card. We see all congratulation message when someone get his GC.
So Please be broad minded. It may be nothing for you. But for some people it is an achievement. People like me are happy by achieving small things. This may nothing for you But it is good reason for the celebration for the people like us.

As long as people support the cause and organization "Willingly" we will have infinite horizons to grow. The moment you bring "Burocracy" in, ultimately momentum will die.. may be slowly or quickly. Historically, IV threads are the major attentive media to declare the existence. We should not kill that with any enforcement of "Paid membership"...It is always hard to wake people. If that would be easy than nobody would have used the word "Struggle"..right:). On other hand yes there is a dire need of increasing financial strength exponentially and that too quickly is at high priority. We need to think and find other ways and resources.
that is the challenge. but it is also a slow process. it took a couple of movements before a lot of members got on board. more results will bring more members. I support issue based funding. announce what the money is needed for and ask members to contribute. members who have a vested interest and are motivated in an issue will contribute. Anything you could contribute is great, but yeah passing on the message and encouraging others to contribute will be most helpful and that will generate more contributions.
I haven't seen any other movement as big as this and as productive and valuable as IV core team is doing for immigration community.
I hope other members will recognize this and donate generously.

I didn't meant to hurt feelings here. and i know how Canada is less opportunity for IT folks. but just couple more points.
1) if number of jobs was criterion, India has far higher number of jobs in IT then US, so people should be rushing bk to India which is not the case. I don't think number of Jobs available in US is why people wanna live here. Even if it takes year or a little more, at least Canadians are transparent about the process.
2) I know everyone here is well read and well educated. Read up about AUS, NZ, Canada and few other countries which have point bases system, they are not under developed or backward in any way. Wikipedia might help.
And please read carefully, my wife is on another beauty of a status called H4B, i mentioned clearly i know how easily people got their H1B's through consultants.

The cheap money from Japan is gone and will never come again. Call rates for banks have risen to 20% (bank to bank lending).
Already there are fissures in European Union in handling the crisis.
The situation is out of reach for USA and Dollar value may crash. The recent runup in dollar is due to Euro crashing. It is a temporary phenomenon.

Equity is down 20% to 30% in developing world and 50 to 70% down in emerging world over 7 trading days, but gold/silver/platinum is just hanging on there, so get out of commodities which would not help you at all, best option is stay in long term USA bonds for security or buy south east Asia bonds which would be right choice for long term
70% of precious metals are owned by banks and government which do not have liquidity to buy, even current price supportd is provided by China/Taiwan/Arab sovereign funds. those govts might get out of gold any time then price will drop to 2005 range.
Do not under estimate USA which is global economic engine,It will recover and this is not new to this country, they have done it and they may do it again at some point in future
Take it easy by diversifying your portfolio....
Best option stay in cash until 2010 with FDIC security....
